Summary
Our Support Services Group has an opening for a Sentinel Solutions System Administrator at our corporate headquarters located in South Burlington, VT. This position will provide daily administration to our monitoring platform, report processing and assist with other internal program offerings. This is a great opportunity to join a growing company in a fast-paced industry. Candidates must be technically proficient, excited about technology, self-motivated, and enjoy serving others.
Major Goals and Responsibilities
- Daily administration of monitoring configurations and solutions infrastructure
- Processing and delivery of customer reports
- Approval, testing and validation of patch management infrastructure
The successful candidate has skills in the following areas
- Network Operating Systems (Windows NT/2000/2003, Linux)Developing technical and integration skills
- Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)
- Server Systems Management Applications (HP Insight Manager, Dell OpenManage)
- Firewalls, Routers and Managed Switches
- Remote Access Technologies (VPN, Citrix, Go To Assist, Remote Desktop)
Educational Requirements
- Minimum of a two-year college degree or an equivalent experience in the field
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows products, Linux Based operating systems, local and wide-area networks, hardware, and desktop operating systems
- Industry certification such as Network+, Microsoft MCDST, MCP, Cisco CCENT, CCNA or higher are highly desired
Technical Requirements
- A thorough working knowledge of Windows workstation and server operating systems and how they interact in production environments is required.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly, often from reading manuals, web searches and extrapolating from prior experiences
- Only candidates with practical experience supporting workstations and servers in a Microsoft domain environment will be considered.
