Summary
Our Support Services Group has an opening for a Desktop Support Technician at our corporate headquarters located in South Burlington, VT. This position will provide remote and onsite technical support for Microsoft-based workstations and peripherals. This is a great opportunity to join a growing company in a fast-paced industry. Candidates must be technically proficient, excited about technology, self-motivated, and enjoy serving others.
Major Goals and Responsibilities
- Provide remote desktop support to clients from Network Operations Center as needed.
- Provide onsite desktop installation and support at client location as needed.
- Implement and manage remote desktop asset and patch management solutions.
- Implement and manage network environment policies and controls.
- Continued skills development; maintain proficiency in current technologies.
The successful candidate has skills in the following areas
- Network Operating Systems – Windows 2000 / 2003, Linux
- Workstation Operating Systems – Windows 98 / NT / 2000 / XP / Vista, Linux
- Application installation and Support
- Hardware installation and Support
- Asset and Patch Management
- Environment Configuration and Management
- Security – Antivirus, Antimalware, Antispam and Firewall
Educational Requirements
- AS/BS Computer Networking related program
- Industry Certifications a plus (MCDST, MCP, CCENT, CCNA, etc.)
- Previous business to business IT support experience
Technical Requirements
- A thorough working knowledge of Windows workstation operating systems and how they interact with Microsoft Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy is required.
- Only candidates with practical experience supporting workstations in a Microsoft domain environment will be considered.
